Busy April

First of all I’d like to say Happy Easter to all who celebrate it this upcoming weekend. And away from that, I’m just saying that it’s always nice to have a little holiday from busy week, in which I will get this weekend from what they called it Spring Break. Finally I get to be released early from school tomorrow, and having no school on Friday and the following Monday, so its quite a good deal. But of course we actually having this break to do some Easter tradition like going to church and stuff. My family don’t celebrate that much, but I’m still happy and looking forward to it.
Soo I know I have been really busy at school, plus the computer at my house does not working at all which result in no posting for these last couple of weeks. Yes yes I have many random information and I am excited to tell you! :)
Ok so first I went to State Forensic last Saturday. I might have said earlier that I am doing a four minute speech about being a foreign exchange student in the United States. This competition has been going on for the last two months; we started at sub district then I pass so I made it to district. I performed at district in three rounds, one of the judges didn’t really like me but I still made it to State! So my performance at State went pretty well; I scored 24 out of 25 and I got silver medal and I am extremely happy :)

Then I had track & field going on. If you would let me explain, this is one of the sport choice during the Spring season other than baseball softball or golf (at least in my school). We do different events such as sprint or distance running, and there are also field events like throwing discus and jumping.
I chose track because although I am a very bad runner, I do like running. Plus our team is actually a combine team from two different schools, so I like to have more people around. Anyway… if you asked me which event am I doing, I have been doing so many different one. I’ve ran 55 meter dash, 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m. My favorite is 200m because it’s is not as fast as those crazy 7seconds race and you don’t ran out of breath. I really like it. It’s fun and I got to get in shape before going home in couple of months (don’t want to mention it).

Oh I also went to UW-Madison Varsity Band Concert! It was so fun, even though it was kind of nasty weather on our way there. The concert was at Kohl Center and there were so many people came to watch. I got the very high seat, like I was sitting against the wall and in the very top level. So yeah it was kind of scary. But the concert was awesome, they played these famous songs from the Beatles up to Glee. My expectation was them to play "Teach Me How To Bucky" lol have you heard of it? It's a really cool song you should listen.

Overall it was pretty cool experience to see them performed, and one thing is that UW Madison is always one university I'd like to get into. I mean uhm who knows, someday :)

April has been a busy month for myself. I know my friends back in Indonesia has, too. They are currently in the middle of national exam so lets hope they will do extremely well!
Talking about busy, I haven't skype my parents in forever so I better soon. Yes, I do miss my life in Jakarta but I am having the best time in my life here!! These are the days when you feel like you can't wait to go back to your beautiful country but yet you aren't ready to leave the freedom. Yes, I do love living in United States but I do I do I do miss my country..... I don't know.

2.5 months.

Trip to Washington DC Part II-The Payback!

So on the first day at DC, we visited Lincoln Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Thomas Jefferson Memorial and Kennedy Center.
And then on the next day, we actually had a tour inside the U.S. Capitol Building! And then we visited the White House, Old Post Office, World War II Memorial and the National Mall. We got to visit 2 out of like 10 different museums, so me and my friends decided to go to Holocaust museum and Smithsonian Airspace Museum. And of course, the Art Museum. Yap yap i don't think there is enough space to post all the pictures!

Toodles!

Trip to Washington DC Part I

One of the worst experience I had in the United States was get isolated in the hotel room, while everyone else's touring Washington DC. How was that exactly? So during the Arrival Orientation eight months ago, all the students get to visit their Embassy and go to different tourist site. They got to visit the Embassy, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, and some other places. Unfortunately since I was sick, I had to stay so that other people would not get sick too.

Pretty sad, isn't it?

So anyway, the art club in my school offered a trip to Washington DC around March. I signed up for it :) :) The long bus ride took out most of the fun part, but I enjoy the trip in overall. So I am going to post some pictures I took.
Here are the one we visited in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Next post will be another tons of pictures in DC!
